Back In The Saddle

I took a break from writing. I did not have writer's block, just had no inspiration. I'm sure all writers feel that way.

I have been toying with the idea of a blogged novel for some time now. I do not fear the publishing process- writing, polishing, seeking an agent, or submitting a manuscript. I suspect that every writer has a dread of rejection. That is not why I chose to blog my newest work.

Several years ago I joined a conversation on a writing forum concerning authors that do not respond to readers. My thoughts were that authors should take the time to respond to readers. If not for people buying books, reading magazines, and ultimately sharing our stories...well, we would be out of work.

Blogging a novel allows an author a unique platform with which they can interact with readers. It also creates a sense of responsibility. A manuscript, once accepted by the publisher, is out of an author's control concerning when the novel is released. Blogging puts the author in full control. If we fail to post no one else can be blamed (barring a site malfunction).

I may or may not release the blogged novel(s) in Kindle and print via self-publishing. I would not be below taking a publishing contract if somehow fate smiled upon my little bit of fiction. The only thing I can promise you is this:

My vampires do NOT sparkle.

Blood and kisses,
Raven
